Local Training Classes for Business Owners

Grow Your Business in Elgin

Push your business forward by learning the skills that are necessary for every small business owner!

The City of Elgin, in partnership with BiGAUSTIN, will launch a small business owner training program that encourages participants to take a step back from their business and look at the big picture. This program is scheduled to launch in Elgin beginning February 2008. Participants of this program will strengthen their ability to make decisions and equip themselves with the knowledge and skills necessary to grow their business.  

Work ON your business, not just IN your business.

This comprehensive business training program will focus on:

    • business operations
    • marketing
    • financial training

Classes will be provided by BiGAUSTIN, the first micro-lending organization in Austin. BiGAUSTIN has helped more than 6000 entrepreneurs creating and sustaining over 1600 jobs. BiGAUSTIN’s mission is to provide affordable, accessible financial services and high-quality, ongoing business counseling to economically disadvantaged individuals starting or expanding a business in Central Texas.

Class Registration Form

Classes will vary in length from 2 hours to 4 hours and will be offered in Elgin primarily at the Elgin Public Library.  For a complete description of the classes, dates and locations click on the links above  or call the City of Elgin at 281-5724. 

Classes are open to existing business owners, those who are interested in owning a business and those who are simply interested in the topics presented.

Training classes will have a small admissions fee, but are primarily funded by a grant from the Rural Capital Area Workforce Commission, the Elgin Economic Development Corporation, the Elgin Chamber of Commerce, and other area partners.
