The City of Elgin is accepting applications for members on the following Boards and Committees: Board of Adjustments, Building Standards Commissions, Elgin Economic Development Corporation, Historic Review Board, Library Advisory Board, Main Street Board, Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, Planning & Zoning Commission, and Public Safety Advisory Committee for terms beginning mid-January 2022.
Applicants must generally be registered voters of the City, have resided within the City limits, be an owner of property within the corporate limits of the City, or an owner of a business within the corporate limits for at least 12 months preceding appointment. Required applications are available on the City's website at https://www.elgintx.com/158/Community-Boards-Committees or through the City Secretary at 512-229-3222 or firstname.lastname@example.org. The City encourages all interested citizens to apply by November 26, 2021. Interviews with the City Council and consideration of appointments is scheduled to take place at the regular City Council meeting in January 2022.
