Elgin Juneteenth

Enjoy the Juneteenth Parade June 11!

Celebrate the Sesquicentennial #etx150 and Elgin Juneteenth by watching this year's Juneteenth parade, set for Saturday, June 11th. The Sesquicentennial committee plans on celebrating our birthday and honoring Juneteenth in this year's parade with our official #sesquicentennial birthday float debut and so should you!
 The parade begins at 10 a.m. and begins at Booker T. Washington Elementary school and travels north on Main Street to 2nd street, turns on to Avenue C and then travels south to Brenham street.

Elgin Juneteenth Celebration Schedule of Events:

  • Friday June 10, Street Dance on Depot Street featuring DJ Darshe Resse from 8 p.m. to midnight with food Vendors in Veterans Park serving up traditional festival fare and Texas BBQ.
  • Saturday June 11, Parade on Main Street @ 10 a.m. registration forms available online in English and Spanish at www.infoetx150.com. After the parade come down to Veteran’s Park for the Juneteenth festivities! Meet the Royal Court, let the kids enjoy the bounce houses, and celebrate with song, food and fellowship throughout the day until 6 p.m.
  • Juneteenth on Juneteenth, June 19, Join Reverend Townsend for a Candlelight Vigil at Sunset in honor of Juneteenth. The event takes place in Thomas Park.
Western Days

Western Days Festival June 23-25 at 6 p.m.

Western Days serves as Elgin’s annual homecoming celebration and is always held during the last week in June. Throughout the multiple-day affair, events are held including a parade, carnival, live music, vendor marketplace, and sports tournaments. The grand finale is held on Saturday where guests can peruse the wares of artisans and craft vendors at an outdoor marketplace while listening to live entertainment throughout the afternoon. The festival is packed full of fun activities for all ages making this a great family-fun event!
