Bastrop County– WarnCentralTexas.org, a new web portal created by a partnership of cities, counties and the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), allows residents to register cellphone numbers and emails to receive emergency alerts by text, email or phone calls about their neighborhood.

“WarnCentralTexas provides residents with reliable information about disasters happening in their communities from their local emergency management and emergency response personnel,” said Eric Carter, CAPCOG Homeland Security director. “It is crucial that people take the time to register their cellphone numbers and email addresses. Protect your family, property and self. Sign up for emergency warnings in your neighborhood by voice, text or email.”
According to Mike Fisher, the Bastrop County Emergency Management Coordinator, this program is of vital importance to our residents. Having timely, verified, and factual information during a crisis is of critical importance to our community, including our business community. Read more
