B.E.S.T. Leadership Program

The B.E.S.T. Leadership Program was founded in 2005 as a means to cultivate community and business leaders in Bastrop County. The Bastrop, Elgin and Smithville Chamber of Commerce  all partner together to provide this  8 session program. Participants are given unique insights into city, county and state level organizations which allow them to build a more in depth perspective of their own community’s opportunities and challenges.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2015-2016 program that will begin in September 2015. Please see the Leadership Program document for more information and to download an application. You can also contact the Chamber Office for any questions about this year’s program at 512-285-4515

Get a Purple Wildcat Flag or 78621 T-shirt from Elgin Main Street.  The full sized flags are great to hang any time, or to put out for events like Western Days, Homecoming and more.  The blue t-shirts have the 78621 zip code with an outline of the downtown skyline. Flags may be purchased for $20, t-shirts for $10, at Elgin City Hall, 310 North Main Street or Dorothy’s Jewelry and Gifts, 104 Depot Street.
Elgin has been a Main Street City since 1990. Purchase of these items supports this program which in turn supports downtown revitalization and preservation of our Historic Downtown District.
