Elgin Economic Development Corporation
Meets the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Administers the 1/2% sales tax for economic development for a 4B Economic Development Corporation. Owns and operates the Elgin Business Park on Hwy. 290. Planning and Zoning Commission
The Planning & Zoning Board meets the last Monday of the month and addresses issues related to zoning, new development, and land use including subdivisions, annexations, and creating a MUD or Municipal Utility District. This board is also responsible for the creation of the Comprehensive Plan and its enforcement. In many of these areas the board makes recommendations to the City Council. Board of Adjustments
Meets as needed and hears all appeals on any variance to a ruling made by a city official or a variance to any local codes. Rulings by the Board of Adjustments cannot be over-ruled by the City Council. For information, call Planning & Development Department 512-281-0119.

Public Safety Advisory Committee
Meets first Monday of the month. The board reviews public safety items related to police, fire, and emergency management services. For information, contact the City Secretary at 512-285-5724.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
Meets the 2nd Thursday of the month and acts in an advisory capacity to review and make recommendations for maintenance, operation, planning, development, enlargement, and use of park facilities and services. The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is a forum for community members to voice their ideas and lend their support to the vision of parks in the Elgin community. Elgin is committed to increasing recreational opportunities and

PARKS Agenda
Library Advisory Board
Regular meetings are scheduled on the second Thursday of March and September at 5:15. Called meetings may also take place in June and December. The board makes suggestions to the City Manager and Council about the function the library plays in the community through policy, procedure and other issues. Elgin Public Library is a member of the Central Texas Library System. For more information, contact the Library Director at 512-281-5678.

Envision Elgin Community Development Team
Meets Quarterly on the 4th Tuesday of the month. Consists of 35 members representing all other boards, city and school district administration and five at-large positions. Responsible for implementing the Strategic Plan developed by the board. The Strategic Plan consists of the following focus areas, Business Recruitment, Business Retention, Education, Quality of Life, Historic Preservation, Tourism, Sustainable Growth, and Regionalism. Historic Review Board
Meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7pm to review applications for alterations to buildings including signs within the historic district in downtown Elgin. Historic District Design Guidelines. Main Street Board
