The Southwest Brick Institute, the trade association representing all of the major brick manufacturing companies in the State of Texas, in recognition of Elgin’s significant annual brick manufacturing capacity which far exceeds any other city in the entire state of Texas, has named "Elgin the Brick Capital of the Southwest."
