Water Aerobics is a fitness class provided by the Elgin Parks & Recreation Lifeguards to get our community moving!
Have a work out you'd like to see done during Water Aerobics? Tell a lifeguard! Our lifeguards spend time each week coming up with new and interesting work outs for our patrons and are happy to hear what you'd like to do!
Water Aerobics Guidelines:
- Participants cannot reserve space or equipment for anyone not present
- Patrons must be at least 15 years of age
- The instructor reserves the right to ask a participant to leave for refusal to follow the Guidelines
- Put equipment away after use
- No food or drinks allowed in the pool at any time
- All participants must wear proper swim attire

July 3, 2019, 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Veterans' Memorial Park
Our classic "Chalk it Up" art contest is back again on July 3rd to get us excited for the 4th of July! We will have a raffle at 7:30PM for all of those who participated in drawing, followed by our lighted push, pedal, pull parade around the park, so don't miss out!
What does "Push, Pedal, Pull" mean? For our People's Parade, we encourage everyone to bring some kind of float, the only caveat being, it cannot have a motor and must be powered by either pushing it, pedaling with it or pulling it! This year the parade will be at dusk so get creative and add in some lights for a festive parade around the park!
If it rains too heavily on July 3rd for us to host our event in Veteran's Memorial Park, we will move it to the Elgin Recreation Center Gym where we will still have music, face painting and art supplies so everyone can decorate their own poster board. Keep an eye on this event for up to date information!

Feel Stronger and leaner with this fast- paced, instructor led class for all level of athletes every Monday and Wednesday. Exercises vary by class for a whole body workout. You'll pick up the pace during these calorie-burning circuit workouts made up of conditioning, agility and some equipment based movements targeting Butt & Legs, Upper Body & Core- a Full body Burn!
