The Elgin Economic Development Corporation is a 4B 1/2 cent sales tax development corporation established in 1995. The Elgin EDC's highest priority is recruiting quality retail, manufacturing, and warehouse distribution businesses to our community. From large tracts of land to pad sites every real estate need can be met in Elgin. The Elgin Business Park provides fully development 2 acre to 5 acre lots with natural gas, all utilities and central storm water detention. The Elgin EDC funds public infrastructure for commercial development. Located 19 miles east of Austin on Hwy. 290 and 9 miles east of SH 130, Elgin is in Bastrop County the 6th fastest growing county in Texas. Elgin is 30 minutes from Austin Bergstrom International Airport, 2 hours from Houston, 1.5 hours from San Antonio, and 30 minutes from Austin.
