Bulk notice

IMPORTANT BULK TRASH  & RECYCLING SERVICE CHANGES

Residential Bulk Pickup beginning April 2018 will be changing from bimonthly to once per quarter.
  Bulk pick up will run for one week each quarter beginning the week of May 7th-11th.  Bulk collection day will fall on your designated trash pick up day. (i.e. Tuesday trash pick-up/bulk pick up during scheduled week)

Bulk dates, Acceptable/ Non-acceptable items can be found on the City Calendar/Services at www.elgintx.com  


 Remember - City Ordinance requires that: “Bulky waste and brush waste shall not be placed out for collection earlier than 5:00 p.m. two days before the established collection day and shall be moved from the collection site no later than 7:00 a.m. the date after the collection day.”  Violation of the rules and requirements –including exceeding the limit for bulk trash placed at the curb may result in citation and potential fines per City Ordinance.  Customers will no longer be required to submit requests for bulk trash pick up to City Hall.


RECYCLING

A new recycling cart will be provided - it's the same size as the trash cart, with the larger cart.  RECYCLING PICK UP WILL BE EVERY OTHER WEEK 1st SERVICE WEEK OF APRIL 9th
 
ONLY ACCEPTABLE RECYCLE ITEMS MAY BE PLACED IN NEW RECYCLE CART

AFTER MARCH 26th THE CURRENT RECYCLING CONTAINERS

WILL NO LONGER BE SERVICED.  Customers may keep the bin(s) or place in Recycle Cart to be recycled.

Elgin has an internet purchase exchange point available for all to use. Internet users can buy and sell in confidence. Location is 202 Depot Street by the Elgin Police department.
