Western Days Festival, Parade, Pageant, Carnival & More! 

Monday, June 18- Saturday, June 23- Western Days 

  • Tuesday June 19th- Western Days Pageant at Elgin High School at 7pm $5 adults $3 students. 
  • Thursday June 21- Family night with carnival & Free Movie in the Park at Dusk- Finding Dory. 
  • Free Friday night dance Elgin Memorial Park & Family night with Carnival. 
  • Saturday June 23- Free events all day. Grand Parade at 10 am through Historic Downtown Elgin.  Live music, arts & crafts, games, contests kids activities, fun for all ages FREE!  Visit www.elgintxchamber.com to learn more. 

Switchboard Exibit at Museum 

A comprehensive look at communication equipment since Elgin became Elgin and an exhibit on World War I are new featured exhibits at the museum.  Communications exhibit features a restored switchboard.  Thank you to all the volunteers with the Elgin Historical Association who made these exhibits possible. 

Depot Museum will be open Saturday June 23 from        2-4pm for Western Days. Regular hours Wednesday - Friday 10am-2pm and Saturday or tours by appointment.

Chalk It Up!

Tuesday July 3rd Chalk It UP Sidewalk chalk art in Veterans Memorial Park. DJ and FREE snow cones while supplies last! Bring your friends and family - draw on your own or as a team - enjoy the evening downtown and help decorate the park to celebrate the 4th of July!  Flyer here

4th of July Parade & Program- Elgin Community Choir will share a lineup of patriotic songs during the program, military servicemen and women and veterans will be recognized. Veteran's Memorial Park 109 Depot Street. Program begins immediately following the parade.

Swim lessons 
Swim lessons are provided by the Elgin City Pool. Each session will consist of 4 lessons over the span of 2 weeks on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays from 6:45pm - 7:30pm. Cost per session is $75 per child. If for some reason the lesson is cancelled due to weather, the make up class will be that following Saturday morning.

  • Session 1 - June 4th - June 14th
  • Session 2 - June 18th - June 28th
  • Session 3 - July 16th - July 26th
  • Session 4 - July 30th - August 2nd
