  1. Wildcat Walkers - Free Walking Program for 60+

    Seniors aged 60+ are invited to come to the Elgin Recreation Center for FREE Monday - Friday from 8:00AM-10:00AM to walk laps in the Gym. Wildcat Walkers is a fun way to socialize with other seniors while walking in a climate controlled gym, providing a safe space for fitness. The Elgin Recreation Center rewards walking milestones, so for your first 100 miles walked, you receive a shirt, for 250 miles you'll receive a pedometer and for 500 miles you'll receive a stainless steel water bottle.

  3. Lap Swim at Morris Memorial Pool

    Lap Swim is a time dedicated for individuals looking to swim laps for fitness. During this time no recreational activities will be permitted. Lap Swim Guidelines - If the lanes are crowded, please share lanes to allow everyone to swim - Patrons must be at least 15 years of age to participate - Lifeguards reserve the right to ask a participant to leave for refusal to follow Morris Pool Rules/Regulations or these Guidelines - No food or drinks allowed in the pool at any time - All participants must wear proper swim attire - Each person participating must have paid their daily entry fee or had their Elgin Rec Center Membership card scanned upon entry Please note: Time scheduled for Lap Swim is specifically for swimming laps. Anyone not swimming laps will be asked to sit out or leave per lifeguard's discretion.

  5. Water Aerobics at Morris Memorial Pool

    Water Aerobics is a fitness class provided by the Elgin Parks & Recreation Lifeguards to get our community moving! Water Aerobics is $2 Per Person Per Session. Water Aerobics Guidelines - If a class is crowded, participants cannot reserve equipment for anyone - Patrons must be at least 15 years of age to participate - The instructor reserves the right to ask a participant to leave - Put equipment away after use - No food or drinks allowed in the pool at any time - All participants must wear proper swim attire - street clothes will not be permitted Please note: Time schedule for Water Aerobics is specifically for the Water Aerobics class. Anyone not participating in Water Aerobics will be asked to sit out or leave per lifeguard's discretion.
